CBD can now be consumed in many different ways. Whether it’s through ingestion, transdermal absorption, vapourising, or even smoking, everyone has their own personal preference. However, not all CBD products can be used for each and every one of these purposes. So if you’re wondering if you can vape CBD Oil, read on.
Can I vape CBD oil?
CBD Oils are very versatile products. The recommended way to use them is to hold the drops under the tongue for a couple of minutes before swallowing. But Cannabidiol Oil can also be ingested directly, mixed into food and rubbed on the skin.
Despite its versatility, your average high-quality CBD Oil, consisting of a full spectrum hemp extract and a carrier oil is unlikely to be suitable for vapourisation.
CBD vape UK products normally consist of either CBD Distillate (a refined CBD extract), or CBD vape juice.
Vape juices for CBD normally contain a refined CBD extract, such as CBD Isolate or CBD Distillate, and either propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerine (VG). They can also include added terpenes and flavourings.
These products do not include hemp seed oil or MCT oil, which are commonly used in CBD Hemp Oils intended for ingestion.
This is because vapourising oils carries the risk of triggering lipoid pneumonia. Lipoid pneumonia can cause symptoms such as a cough, a fever, chest pain and shortness of breath. In some cases, it can require hospitalisation.
So, if vaping is your thing, it’s crucial to buy a product that is specifically designed for vapourisation. Not a standard CBD Oil intended for ingestion.
