As CBD continues to become a part of everyday life for people across the globe (the most recent estimates put active UK users at 1.3 million at least), we’re understanding its range of applications more and more. The most significant finding? That CBD oils can be taken at every stage of your daily routine.

Almost everyone in our office now uses CBD in several different forms throughout the day due to its versatility, but this isn’t just about our team of CBD fanatics. We’ve also spoken to a wide spread of our consumers and found that the majority prefer to use CBD via different methods at different junctures throughout the day.

So how do you make CBD part of your day-to-day routine?

And what form of CBD is right for which occasion? We’ve put together a comprehensive guide of how each of our CBD products have been designed for usage at optimal points, whether situational or at a certain time. First though, let’s discuss why CBD isn’t necessarily pinned to a time or place.

What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of over 100 compounds known as cannabinoids that have so far been discovered in the hemp plant. The most famous of these is THC, the compound that gets cannabis users high. Meanwhile, CBD, the second most prevalent cannabinoid, has no psychotropic properties whatsoever.

Why do people use CBD then? Well it’s all to do with how it interacts with our biology. The human body already produces cannabinoids itself, including a chemical called 2-AG that is a direct mirror of CBD. Despite the fact that cannabinoids are named after cannabis (where they were first discovered) the endocannabinoid system is incredibly prevalent, being found in the nervous system, immune system and most major organs.

Since CBD is directly similar to chemicals the body already produces, it means we can incorporate it seamlessly into our biology. That’s why we consider CBD as the natural choice.

Your CBD dosage matters

CBD is still a totally new concept to most people, and yet in the last year over 6 million adults in the UK tried it. As the UK’s number 1 CBD brand, we’re continuously engaging with our users to find the best ways to use and buy CBD. That’s why we know how to get the best CBD dosage for you.

Our CBD results

Our findings have shown that the average user dosage is far higher than we first anticipated. Whilst the full range covers 20-120mg a day, the median was around 70mg. It’s this higher daily dosage that’s the key when buying CBD.

We found that our most satisfied users were those using the highest dosages. Where previously we recommended dosages of 20-45mg, our user base regularly uses daily doses in excess of 70mg+. Experimenting with higher doses is essential for user satisfaction.

Graph showing that most CBD users were satisfied with at least a 70mg dose.

We also reached out to Vitality CBD users that had bought our lowest strength: 300mg. If they weren’t completely satisfied, we then sent them a 1200mg CBD Oral Spray, and within 3-5 days we received countless unsolicited emails detailing the positive impact increasing their dosage had.

Whether you’re a regular CBD user, or still considering your first CBD oil purchase, our research emphasises the benefit of shifting to a higher dosage. That’s why we suggest starting high.

Since consumer satisfaction spikes from 70mg onwards, we recommend you start with 70mg a day for a week as a loading dose. After that, you have two options:

If you were satisfied, shift down by 20mg a day.

If you weren’t satisfied, shift up by 20mg a day.

You can repeat this process each week till you feel you’re totally satisfied—this is your optimum point. We’d always suggest experimenting with a higher dose, because you can always go back to a lower one later.

CBD is safe at high dosages

The most important thing to remember through all of this is that CBD products have been shown to have a good safety profile, even at high dosages. Clinical trials repeatedly use CBD doses that are over 100mg a day, with some even reaching as high as 600mg a day.

CBD has not been shown to have any adverse effects outside of mild nausea at extremely high doses (500mg+). If you want to be sure of exactly how much CBD you’re taking in our CBD Oral Drops, check our helpful diagram above.

How to fit CBD products around your lifestyle

Now you know why CBD’s promotion of balance makes it usable at various points throughout the day, let’s get into what products best suit what time. We’ll provide a simple walkthrough of our entire range using an easy-to-understand timeline that you can map onto your own everyday life.

Early morning CBD riser

CBD has a reputation for being used before bed, but that’s really not the case. In fact, using it first thing in the morning is a great way to ensure you have a consistent dosage throughout the day.

What product works best in this instance then? From our Well-Being range, we’d use our CBD Oral Spray right after getting out of bed. Since it’s light and easy to apply, the spray atomiser makes it a fresh way to start your morning. We’d recommend the berry flavour for an extra-added juicy flavour.

Once you’ve showered and cleared your head, we’d suggest using the CBD Skin Cream. It’s not just a great way to deliver CBD, it’s also a great cosmetic product in its own right. Our formulation includes a unique and potent blend of moisturising ingredients, ensuring your skin will be left feeling rejuvenated for the day ahead.

CBD on the go

You’ve had your morning dosage, and now it’s time to leave the house. For on-the-go, we’d recommend our CBD Oral Spray again, because of the easy action of its spray applicator. It’s perfect for popping out for a quick few sprays on the walk to your train, or after getting out of the car on your drive to work.

Your CBD break-time

Vaping is ideal for being on-the-go too, but it’s better when you’re at rest. Whether you’re sat working in a vape-friendly office, or outside a café enjoying a hot drink, our entire range of CBD e-liquids are great for having a quick dose in a variety of situations.

Which CBD e-liquid though? Well if you want the premium CBD experience, the obvious choice is our Broad Spectrum CBD E-liquid, which includes additional cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, without the waxes and oils for a smoother vape.

Not a vaper? Then you might want to consider a CBD Oral Spray as an easy alternative instead. We’re proud of our CBD e-liquids, so if you’re unsure, why not check out our full CBD e-liquid range?

Early evening CBD

You’ve made it home, and it’s time to put your feet up. But first, why not use some CBD Oral Drops? Using a more traditional pipette than our spray, they’re not perfect for when you’re dashing about, but they’re a great staple to have on hand in the home.

Rather than a light spray, our CBD Oral Drops give a far fuller taste experience thanks to the rich hemp seed oil. Apply it under the tongue in the same way, and enjoy either our fully natural hemp flavour, our lemon citrus-blast, or our fan-favourite berry. There are plenty of potential favourite flavours to try!

CBD before bed

After a long day, our favourite option before bed is our CBD Muscle Balm. Simply apply our fragrant blend of organic essential oils and CBD to the desired areas, either by yourself or even as part of a massage. Since CBD is so versatile, you can really use CBD in any way you choose.

We’ve got plenty more new products planned on the horizon too, each one with a role in your day-to-day life. Keep an eye out for our future product developments for even more ways to incorporate CBD day-to-day.

Making your own CBD timeline

Of course, you don’t need all of our products to build your own CBD daily routine. The joy of being able to buy CBD is that you can take it as much or as little as you want, and use five different products throughout the day, or just one. It’s all about finding what the right balance is for you.

The main purpose of this piece is to encourage you to experiment with your methods and your dosage. Try taking it first thing in the morning, and try taking it in the middle of the day. Try doing all of your daily dosage in two sets of pipettes, and try spacing it out by vaping throughout the day. That’s the best way to reach your CBD potential.

The best CBD experience

We spoke to some of our CBD users, and asked them to document their CBD usage, as well as their satisfaction with it. Some we asked to use inconsistently, or as and when they felt like it. The others we asked to use every day with a tight focus on consistency. You can see the results below for yourself.

It takes 21 days for a habit, which is why we trialled consumers at a daily dosage for that length of time. The results speak for themselves!

Why take CBD consistently?

But that still leaves the question: why does taking CBD consistently matter? Why can’t you just take it when you feel like it, and keep it to that? Well, the answer to that question comes from the way CBD works in the human body.

We always recommend you take your CBD daily, whether that’s once a day, twice a day or three times a day. The reason? Taking CBD should be premised on balance, and the endocannabinoid system.

The endocannabinoid system and cannabidiol

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is found in nearly every part of your body. It’s in most major organs, your immune system, your nervous system, and even your skin. But what is the ECS’ role within the body? And what does it have to do with buying CBD?

You can think of the endocannabinoid system as an assistant manager. It monitors the levels of several essential parameters, including temperature, pH, and pressure.

The most significant part? That CBD is directly similar to a chemical already produced in the body, an endocannabinoid known as 2-AG. This is why when you take CBD, it can be integrated into your body seamlessly.

Extra tips for staying consistent

Since introducing CBD into your body is all about consistency, we recommend setting up essential reminders for yourself. Whether you’re a tech-head or a little more old school, we’ve got a few easy-to-remember tricks to help you ensure you have the best CBD experience.

  1. Set a reminder on your phone! Something as simple as this can have a massive difference. Just set one each morning, and each evening—even if you don’t see them bang on time, you’ll still be reminded to take it that day.
  2. Put a sticker on your kettle. Everyone has a cuppa in the morning, so make taking CBD part of your routine then as well! Just stick one of our CBD stickers on your kettle to make taking your CBD oil easy as anything.
  3. Put a sticker ON your phone. Why not fuse the two ideas? Grab one of our handy stickers and put it on your phone case. That way, you’ll always have a useful CBD reminder right at hand.
